The Januray Winter Poker Run returned to the FPC calendar after a three year absence, and just over 20 FPC poker run teams took part in the christening of the all-new Faro Blanco Resort & Yacht Club. The property features a new Hyatt Place, Lighthouse Grille Restaurant and a spacious marina that can easily accommodate over one hundred powerboats and several yachts. Weekend highlights include a Flyboard water jet demonstration and a few club members stapped on the board for some extreme watersports!!
February was wide-open throttle with the 74th Miami International Boat Show, where the FPC crew staged the 23rd Annual Boat Show Bash at the Raleigh Hotel, and the Boat Show TV film crew captured all the latest performance marine hardware for (3) new episodes that will air on SunSports commencing March 11th. As the boat show closed its doors at the Miami Beach Convention Center, FPC members were already arriving at SeaIsle Marina for the 2oth Annual Miami Boat Show Poker Run, to Islamorada. It was a stellar fleet of awesome high performance boats, many of them coming straight to the water from their displays at the Miami Show. Participants arrived from more than twenty states and over five countries to attend, with well over 300 powerboaters in attendance!
Thursday kicked off the run with about 70 teams, while Friday pulled the remaing 20 teams for the short ride that made stops at Coconut Grove and Key Largo along the way. Congratulations to Bill Napier from Texas, in his 39 Cigarette, for winning the Grand Prize with the best poker hand!
