FPC recently reached out to our members to determine best dates for our 2nd Annual Florida Havana Powerboat Rally. The majority of boaters suggested that the new May 18th departure date worked best for them, which allows us to participate in the Havana Bay Boat Parade, potentially making history as the largest-ever American flag flotilla that will enter and circle Havana Bay. FPC joins together with Hemingway International Yacht Club, celebrating twenty-five years since both organizations were founded, while this cruise event will draw thousands of spectators and international news teams that will ensure global media coverage!
It’s an amazing experience to visit Cuba by boat, and Florida Powerboat Club is set to register a (limited) number of powerboat teams to share the adventure. We are working closely with our travel affiliate, Cuba Travel Services, to deliver a first class experience, including accommodations at the landmark Park Central Hotel on the doorstep to Old Havana, great dining, and a government-mandated people-to-people cultural experience with our Cuban neighbors.
Please act fast, as only twenty powerboat teams can be accommodated for this second annual, history-making cruise with members of the Florida Powerboat Club!
Because we are working with a Cuban government approved travel agency, the method of payment for this event is somewhat different than typical FPC events. Attendees will pay FPC for their event management fee to organize the entire event and stage boating and meeting functions on the Florida side of the event. Cuba Travel services will oversee the Cuba activities and accommodations upon arrival.
There are THREE components to the rate structure, as follows:
The FPC event fee — $1,250
Crew fee: $175 (all crew)
This fee will cover all the event planning, filing of US Coast Guard Cuban waters forms, overseeing event logistics, setting up all your crew with Cuba Travel Services. There be a $175/pp crew fee for the additional crew members, including captain, which also covers costs of all the Florida–based activities, including catered functions on the Miami to Key West leg of the run. These fees must be paid upon confirmation of your attendance. This form and fee must be satisfied before we proceed with any reservations for your crew.
