February 22 – 25, 2024
The Miami Boat Show Poker Run continues to rank high on the FPC event roster as one of the club’s more popular events. Staged every February after the conclusion of the Miami International Boat Show, this poker run had always had close ties with the Miami Show, and for many reasons. In the early nineties, the Miami Boat Show’s public relations team actually recruited FPC to take an active role in covering the iconic Miami Beach-based boat show for Powerboating in Paradise TV, and a strong partnership was formed that has stood the test of time. By 1996, FPC’s founder Stu Jones created a boating event that would extend the show cycle for performance marine manufacturers, who very much wanted to get their new models out on the water to sea-trial would-be buyers. Dealers and manufacturers could now run on the open waters of Biscayne Bay and the Upper Keys, where they could showcase the performance of these awesome machines, and escape to paradise for some fun in the sun!
What started as FPC’s Manufacturers Offshore Rally in 1996, soon transitioned to a poker run format, adopting the Miami Boat Show Poker Run name with the approval of the NMMA Management team.

Launching & Departure Locations:
With the continuing challenges of finding adequate facilities for truck & trailer parking in Miami, FPC will continue to promote safe, low cost launching & parking at Harbourtown Marina in Fort Lauderdale. Participants may arrive on the day before departure, get their boats launched and head offshore or on protected ICW to Miami, where limited overnighting facilities will be available.
Departure Marinas:
Haulover Marine Center remains active as a departure and check-in location for several boats, but this is primarily for those members who are currently under storage contract at this facility. For out of town poker run teams, the practice of arriving to stage, unload, and park trucks & trailers at this location is available only to a select few visitors, at premium rates. FPC will provide the contact information at time of registration, for this option. Please note that Haulover Park boat ramps and parking lots are under a major county-funded reconstruction project. Dockside breakfast will be offered, and Poker cards will be distributed from the Haulover fuel dock at time of departure.
TNT Marine Center is also considered an official launch location, but reserved primarily for TNT storage customers. All boats coming from TNT may rendezvous at Haulover Inlet with the other Haulover Marine center boats.
Venetian Marina/Biscayne Marriott: This location will be actively involved with the Miami Boat Show, but after the show wraps up, a limited number of slips will be available to FPC participants, along with hotel rooms at the Biscayne Marriott jus steps from the boat. Rates will be provided but typically average $6.00/ft for private slip, and rooms in the $250-$300 per night range.
Grove Harbour Marina: This marina is located south of Downtown Miami, and is the most southerly departure marina. Grove Harbour is a poker run check-in location, and will also offer staging and truck-trailer parking, for a limited number of participants. FPC organizers will be on hand, for poker run check-in and a dockside breakfast will be provided to participants. Dockside breakfast will be served to participants and a poker run bonus card will be handed off here.

FPC will take over all of the available marina space, at Postcard Inn. In keeping with the “Performance Boat show format”, organizers are offering prime docking locations on the inside marine basin for FPC series sponsors to showcase their newest models. Many of these boats will be coming straight from the Miami Boat Show just a few days earlier. A small selection of remaining slips on the inside basin, as well as a handful of premium yacht slips will be offered to to FPC Platinum members. Docking & rafting along the main sea-wall at Postcard Inn will be pre-assigned based on matching up similar sized vessels in a safe rafting format. FPC has had extensive experience in this practice, and these rows will be limited in size to maintain safe and manageable docking format.
Chief Marine Group:
Overflow docking will be provided just one mile away, in a protected marina basin at Chief Marine Group, one of FPC’s main sponsors. This location will have a 93 octane fuel truck on hand, and a courtesy shuttle will be offered to participants for convenient transportation to and from the hotel.
